Product Description
This kit is ideal for getting started monitoring your home or business. It includes one battery powered sensor and a 3-zone chime receiver with relay output. The receiver can be expanded to monitor up to nine sensors (3 per chime) or get a second receiver later so you'll hear the chime when a sensor detects motion. The kit also includes mounting screws for the sensors and chime receivers plus an AC adapter to power the receiver. You'll only need a 9-volt battery for the sensor. Simply place the weatherproof PIR Motion Sensor alongside the entrances to your home. When a vehicle or person crosses the sensors path, the sensor sends a signal to the indoor remote Chimebox Relay.

Remote sensor is a bit tricky to setup and adjust. Reliability at detecting motion is very good, minimal false signals. (About three months of use). Adjustable indoor volume - and - tone is noteworthy (not abrasive nor harsh). The system certainly has capability for expansion and multiple uses. Moderately expensive, but quality seems justified. Claimed battery life "up to 2 years" (9V rectangular battery) remains untested; I can't imagine it surviving anywhere near that long in a cold climate (I'm in the south). Likewise, a unit exposed to full-weather elements (mine is sheltered). Certainly worth a try considering the limited other systems available. Price seems competitive if not slightly better.

Have the same unit for the last 4 years works great replaced the battery twice and is an outside driveway hanging on a tree. Have also have 2 sensors on this unit, very easy to distingish bonging and easy to configure. Works from a good distance actually had the main unit over the neighbor's home while we were building the home to keep and eye on the comings and goings. Worked Great and ordering one for my parents. C

I've purchased other motion sensor chime alert devices, and this seems to be the best of the bunch, although it's also the most expensive. The system is very configurable, with several volume settings and different chime sounds ("ding-dong" etc, not irritating buzzing or beeps). The receiver also has a display which shows which sensors were recently triggered.
The sensors are rugged and can be configured to detect motion in a wide fan pattern, or in a narrow, long-range pattern. I've had two sensors set up in my backyard for over 2 years now, and they're still working on the original batteries, in the heat and cold.
If you want a cheaper, more bare-bones setup, you might also consider the RWA300R Reporter, which is also reliable but not quite as fancy as this.

WIRELESS1000, from Optex, is a wireless chime for indoor and outdoor applications. Its wireless PIR detector is made for indoor or outdoor use and has detection patterns for doorway and driveway coverage. Just insert a 9V battery and mount the detector wherever you want detection, then plug-in the chimebox receiver to complete the installation. Features include On-Off control, adjustable volume, individual enunciation of up to three zones, an optional alarm mode, and a 1 amp form C relay.
Sensor mounts easily on walls, ceilings, fenceposts, and desktops. Weatherproof design of sensor allows outdoor use.
Two detection patterns: 50ft Long Range and 17ft. Fan Pattern
Detection pattern adjusts easily for perfect aiming.
